Default esc problems...

I am having trouble with I believe my esc. I have a slash 4wd and the vilenion motor quit workin. So I went and bought a tekin pro 4 brushless and put it in. Everything works fine just that when I go full throttle it fades in and out of power, and never reaches top speed. I'm guessing the traxxas esc is not enough to power this motor. Which would be an affordable esc to get? This is strictly bashing. Looking at maybe the castle mamba pro and the hobbywing xerun-80amp sd... The ex8 is just waay out of my budget. Thoughts, ideas?

The sc8 esc will not work because your motor is sensored. Get a mamba max pro or a hobbywing sct-pro to run that motor.

it will work, you can run that motor unsensored.
