Post SC10 + Tekin RX8 + PRO4 XXXKV

SC10 + Tekin RX8 + PRO4 XXXKV

Ok let me explain. Just purchased a SC10 RTR. I want to install my RX8 but my T8 motor is to large. I need a PRO-4 motor but what KV rating?

I will be running on a 1/10th scale indoor med-high grip clay track.
5000Mah lipo, HS-7940TH, CC-BEC (tell you this for weight)

What KV rating?
What Pinion?

Default 2WD... Good Deal

Ok,

The ESC is a little large but will work fine for your 2WD SC10 but I would not suggest going with the 4 pole Pro4 motors. The were mostly intended for 4WD applications and generate a huge amount of bottom end Torque. This is great for a 4WD truck but it will make your 2WD SC10 a real handful to drive well on a track and if you do have grip it will do nothing but pull wheelies.

I suggest you go with a standard 13.5 or 10.5 2 pole motor if you are new to the 10th scale scene. I personally run a 8.5 in mine and it is more than enough.

Hope this helps.

Ok, well if you think it would be at all negative to put in the Tekin gear I will hold off. The stock is working but it feels.... slow and i noticed out of the box a little warm.

I guess im spoiled from traxxas electronics. I HATE HATE HATE the reverse on this truck!

lemme know your thoughts.

Yea stay with tekin.
I would get rid of the rx8 in a 2wd and get a RS.Just to big and bulky also not neccesary. A pro4 would have to much torque for a 2wd. Get a tekin rs and a tekin redline turn of your choice.

The people posting in The Official SC10 Thread I'm sure will be more than happy to steer you in the right direction with your SC10.

The RX8 and Pro4 motor is overkill in a 2wd SC10 The torque generated by the Pro4 motor could possibly cause drive train failure as well.
