Default Teking 2560 in Losi Truggy

Is anyone running a Tekin 2650 in your truggy ? I checked the Tekin website and it only lists a 2250 for truggies and the 2650 for buggies. Any thoughts on that ? Thanks for any info

Unless you like to have 7 minute runtimes, you are far better off with a sub 2000kv motor.
Even that "low" kv is way fast enough with 4s lipo.

Higher kv = less torque,
More torque is more important in truggy. They are heavier than buggy, that’s why 2650 is typical buggy motor.
Short runtime is one thing.
Second, you can have problem with motor temperature

We make truggy motors for a reason. The 2650 will overheat in a truggy. I don't recommend it.

There are exceptions to all rules

You can easily and enjoyably run 5s on a 2650kv motor in truggy. You just need to make extra sure you drivetrain is free there is nothing wrong with the car mechanically you have top notch electronics motor esc batteries servos receiver/transmitter and that it isnt geared too high and with ample c rating and mah for the lipo; it all plays a role in a complete set up. If your gear is the best you can buy and in great shape you can run those specs in truggy with the lighter racing wheels and tires only. Dont hammer the throttle all the way around the track and you'll be good to go and beating all the guys down the straight with those specs

+1 - I run a 2000 KV in my Truggy and it is plenty fast with a lot yank to it, and I run a 2250 in an SC8 that I just play with, I plan to drop that down by about 400 KV in the near future here.

Run a truggy motor in a truggy, the buggy is fine with either as long as the can is not too long... but the truggy needs a truggy motor.
