Are these bodies Roar approved? Not that it matters either way to me. I just recall there being a rule that there are no spoilers or wings allowed in short course of any kind.
I was curious so I looked it up. 8.10.12.5.8 No add on or integrated spoilers/wings allowed. It does define what a spoiler and wing are so the ones running the length of the body that almost all SC bodies have are okay. I know they dont have to be run. It looks pretty good with the rear spoiler though. You dont need anything to make you any faster though Cameron. |

:ha: I don't run the spoiler because they don't allow them here. It's optional and fits the back of the body real nice. The body itself did make me faster for the fact it increased stability and my confidence in the way the truck drives. The bodies with BIG holes might let air "pass through" them but it creates a lot of turbulence too when driving at speed. Not sure about other racers but my truck spends more time on the ground then in the air.
If you make the NWSC race in Pasco I'll come check your TRUCK body out. ;) |
Hooters theme Short Course Body
SOR Graphics has the wrap templet done for the Hellcat body if anyone is interested. They can print ANYTHING.
http://www.stuckonracinggraphics.com/ http://methodrc.com/ I don't have it cut out yet but I wanted to share anyway. Hellcat wrap, Pit board and car stand wrap also. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...00483373_n.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...1432112_n1.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...97776737_n.jpg |

Got rained out for racing today... Maybe tomorrow...

I have been racing outdoors a lot lately and the Hellcat body seems to fly very well in the wind. As with any body though if you hang the nose in the air off the jump it takes a lot to get it back down but when jumping correctly it sails nice on the big air jumps.
So far I have been having some lady luck on my side with the Hooters SC body. Two TQ's and Two 1st place finishes. Hopping the carry that on to the NW Short Course nationals next month. :tire: |

I have had the same experience.
When I first mounted my body, I expected it to be the same as the JC ones I had mounted previously, so I notched the front of the body to clear the bumper downtubes. Whoops, too low. But it made 'kiting' worse. A strategically placed piece of duct tape helped a bunch. The next bodies I paint, I'm going to mount them first and leave maximum chin spoiler below the cut line. |

It's deceiving when you are hanging it how slammed it is because of the way the hood is shaped.
Last time out, I was leading the main (after the tone had sounded) heading down the back straight when somebody got it wrong in the infield quad. The head on collision sheared the left front corner clean off the truck, and I finished second on three wheels. The body, however, is fine. |
Spotted in our local RC clubs crash video this week was me running my old orange and white body. Only truck not crashing was the one with the Method Hellcat body. :sneaky:

Cameron,
What is your standard mounting holes on the SC10 4x4 these days? I haven't run this truck in a while and I think that 3 front and 1 rear is right, but I totally slammed the body for 2f/1r when I mounted it. Thanks! |
Yes on the sc10 4x4 I run hole 3 in the front and hole 1 in the rear. The body looks pretty level at those settings.
