Is this conversion still in the works? It says in the first post of this thread that pre-orders are going to start in March of 2012. In a few days it's going to be 2013 and still nothing. I've got a 2011 spec modded by Carl Roccco and I'd like to have this conversion to make things a little better.

Am I waiting on a ghost? Does anyone know if they still plan to finish this project?

Looking at the pricing on the xb9 conversion, I am not buying it anyways even if it is releasing. My conversion costed me under 80 bucks all in all.

I know the final production arms arrived while they were are the 1/8 worlds in Argentina. From what I heard that was the final piece to the puzzle they needed to finish the kits. It has been several weeks though so I don't know what the current status is on the truck.

Thanks Cameron. The arms are the most important thing to me. I really don't need the whole kit, but a couple sets of arms would be great!!

The CV axles are shorter too but those have been done for a while now. They had them done in the same xray/hudy steel quality so fit and wear should be excellent.

When you consider that there is much less to convert to make the XB9 electric than there is to make it a SCT I think their price may end up being a real shock.

If they're nutso on the price when it finally is released, I think I'll just sell the Xray and buy a Techno SC410. I can get the whole car for 350 from Tower.

Well if you look at their XB9-E conversion it is not too high of price for all the carbon fiber that comes with it. The Truck conversion will have arms, axles, bumpers, and body mounts too. So I am sure it will be priced better for the conversion kit over a complete race ready truck.

Any word on the status of this conversion? Still would like to know if there is a projected date for the release of this conversion. I even posted on the Facebook page but no one has bothered to even reply. Strange behavior for people who want to sell a product.

I met Wes at an event in the latter half of last year and spoke with him about this build. The issue, or at least a big one, was the cost of creating the molds, approx. $250k to start. He said it would be difficult to justify the kits release at those price points. You have to sell/distribute a lot of stuff to recoup those kinds of dollars.

carbon fiber is expensive when you actually use molds like making bikes and F1 chassis and stuff. Taking sheets of premade cf and making straight cuts is not expensive. FWIW I think the conversion on the xb9e is overpriced as well.

If you look a few posts back, Cameron said the production arms have arrived and they were the last parts needed. If that is the case, I would expect to see the convesion released anytime now. If they have them complete then you would think they would be eager to get them on the market to start recouping some of their investment, but everything is still very silent.

I think he is talking about the mold for the A arms , though 250k seems really high to me .

Sooo is this or is it not gonna come out ? So nice of these guys to leave all the XRay boys hangin , waiting on something that will never happen .
