Default Buggy Cutting Out

I need some help figuring out why my buggy is cutting out on me. Randomly it will loose all power to the wheels but my steering will still work. A second later everything is working again. Other times my buggy will just randomly turn sharply on it's own to one direction and then again, a second later and it's fine. I would love to just start replacing electronics to figure out what's wrong but that's some costly trouble shooting. Here's my setup.

TLR 22
Ballistic 7.5
Tekin RS
Spektrum S6040
Gens Ace 5000mAh 40C
Futaba 4PL
Futaba R2104GF

Thanks for any help you can give!

Same thing happened to me. One of my motor wires was not making a solid connection. Looked like it was, but when I gave it a light tug, came apart in my hand. Check your connections, be sure to give them all a tug and make sure they're really on there.

Had a guy at the track this weekend with a cutting out issue. It turned out that his sensor board in a 17.5 ballistic was on the fritz. He changed it and it was fine...also had more power

Would that also cause the random turning issue?

I had the same problem, for me it was a loose connector on the receiver. I took my receiver out, shook all the dirt out and reconnected everything and havn't had a problem.

Yes it could. You must understand that the BEC powers the servo, radio, and sensors on the motor along with any other thing plugged into the receiver like your PT.

Try adding a glitch buster to your radio. Spektrum SPM1600 is the part #.

Also...was this a fresh build or something that just started happening? The guy I wrote about added a glitch buster and it worked for 2 weeks and started glitching again, that's when we looked into the sensor board.

It's a new build although the motor was bought used from here.

yes to a glitch buster but also double check that you have the servo dead centered it should be on a 22 one notch to the right while looking at the face of it. If you have it to far one way or the other then you have to set your sub trim to high and it will draw crazy amps.

I haven't had a chance to take the servo out yet to see if it's centered but the subtrim is set to R15 and trim L4.

Also I bought the servo used and the previous owners cut the wires short. Could a poor wiring job to the servo cause it?

Any advice on how to fix a poorly wired servo? I don't have a lot of wire left to work with, maybe 1/2 inch or so.

I would just test with a different servo altogether first. You may swap in a known working servo to find the issue remains.

I would definitely try that but I don't have another servo.
