back in 89-90 I managed to get my 10 year old hands on a Tamiya Clod Buster. I don't count the Tyco's and Nikko's before that.

First hobby grade was a early/mid 80's Cox Tomahawk. Later sold by Kyosho. That car was as fast or faster then my friends Hotshot. The main problem was it broke the cast front arms all the time!! It was fun to drive but I couldn't afford the ft arms.

Next was a 86ish gold pan RC10, then aTC3, and now a SC10. I still have the AE stuff. I think my Tomahawk is in my parents house some where.

Great Thread!!

My first car was a Tamiya Hornet thaat came from Japan. My dad was traveling on business and brought one home. Not one word of english in this kit. That thing was a blast. Then I got my Clod Buster. Man those were some great cars.

I picked up a JRX2, Turbo Optima and Tamiya Lunchbox all very close together. The Lunchbox ended up barely being driven. I sold the Optima because 4wd died and I race the JRX2 for a long time and loved every minute of it.

July of 1983 Tamiya Rough Rider (aka Sand Scorcher). I was 6 years old and it was awsome. I had the Futaba box radio and a black magic motor.

Tamiya Lamborghini Cheetah for me, way back in the late 70's. Saved up paper route money for a long time to get that.
