I'm not wild about downstop screws in 1/10th scale 2wd offroad. I like the overall simplicity of the vehicles as compared to 4wd and 1/8 scale. Also, I once I figure out how many limiters I need to keep the spring seated without adding preload, I never change it again. One less adjustment to double check before a race. 4 less screws in my car to come loose. 4 less holes.

I would prefer them as if you need to see how a downstop change would work, you can quickly do that and then later add in the shims to the shocks if you like, versus having to tear the shocks apart to do the same thing.

Without limiters, or rather with the 2 the kit setup includes on each front shock, the shock shaft extends farther than the spring. With the weight off the wheels, there would be a 1.5mm gap between the bottom of the spring and the retainer. I add limiters to remedy this.

I had to purchase more limiters to increase the amount. RTR does not include additional limiters.
