Anyone have a good starting setup for a large bumpy hard packed dirt track with a very loose sandy loam top layer?

Top Notch Series is having their final race at Revelation Raceway. This is traditionally a track suited for 1/8 scale. They are making a 1/10 friendly setup for the final race. I think it will be a blast especially for stock stadium truck, but I'm just looking for a good starting setup.

For reference, here I am driving my 1/8 scale around.

Default Does the wing matter?

I have a couple of used unknown bodies on my B4.1 and no rear wings.

How much does it matter which wing I use?

I'm running on a smallish-medium size outdoor clay track that usually as the "corn silk" layer on it. It's very technical, if that matters.

So, should I just buy a couple of "whatever" type wings or should I focus on a particular type or style of wing?

Thanks!

post this over in the b4.1 or b4.2 thread and they can point you in the right direction.

You don't have to match the brands. I personally don't like te Proline as they se flimsier and don't have the holes doted where to ream holes and this is why I like the JConcepts high clearance wings

B4 or T4? B4 you definitely need one, T4 I would suggest running one but it is not as important in my opinion

Does the associated SC10 hex axle conversion fit the T4.1?

I believe it's too short. The only t4 axle setup is from JConcepts, which is also a stronger setup.

Can I use the battery below? on a stock motor/ESC

Spec.
Capacity: 4000mAh
Voltage: 3S1P / 3 Cell / 11.1V
Discharge: 25C Constant / 50C Burst
Weight: 333g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 173x49x20mm
Before I upgraded my rtr I used to run 5000mah 3s. I never had a problem and it was fast!!! Just watch your temps I think I changed my pinion by one or two.

I think the rs axles are too short, you need the JC axles #2170, the sc10 rear hexes all the way around and the ASC9880 steering blocks.

You can use the AE parts as well. The JCocepts are a better option but you can use the SC10 axles with the B4 hexes to get the correct offset

I beleive the parts needed are:

ASC 9880
ASC 9881
ASC 7497 (plastic) or ASC 9890 (aluminum)

That's what I ran before JConcepts came out with their set up

How is that maintaining the correct offset? the sc10 hexes are fairly wide, wider than a b4 hex

I am using the AE axles on my T4 with no problems. I couldn't use the SC-10 rear hexes all around because the axle pin would just fall out. The relief area was too deep for the pin to stay in. This is with Avid hexes so JConcepts or Pro-Line could be different. I am also using the JConcepts wheels. I am using SC-10 front hexes on the front and rears on the rear. I don't race anywhere that checks truck width though. I did break one front axle on a landing and I would say that maybe it should have broke? Busted right where the pin goes through and I know of one other member that had that happen.

I like using the AE axles because all of my rides have the same parts. Should the axles continue to break I may change my stance on that.
