I dont get this mod. Just a stronget camber link?

yes, captured ball cups/ends. If you have an issue popping cups, this mod works well.

Wildcat1971 09-21-2012 06:56 AM

ahhh, never had an issue with rpm cups, but good to know.

TradinPaint,I was wondering if you know much about the rear upper arm mod?Using the ball cups and turnbuckle from the Sc10 4x4.I guess it's suppose to help eliminate the chance of it popping off.Can you give me your take on this?

I haven't had an issue with the rear ball cups. The ball diff one I use may pop once in 2 months but that's because of a serious hit (b4/t4/sc10)

They are nice, because you don't need to pop the ball cup to make adjustments (adjust diff, change ball location) you just unscrew the ball and make your adjustment. No wear on the ball cup

Also, as I said earlier they just look better

Wildcat1971 09-21-2012 07:45 AM

Now that is a good reason TP. I just drill a hole on the rpms, but the 4x4 way is probably stronger.

I thought about doing the hole in the RPM trick. Does that work pretty well, what size hole do you go with?

The team has been running this for a bit. The big truck tires put a lot of force on those ball cups especially when landing sideways.

I did a little bit of searching, but what gearing and end bell timing would you guys recommend for a 17.5 reedy sonic motor in blinky mode? 28/72? I'm mostly concerned in which spur to buy since im planning on getting a avid triad set-up. Thanks!

yeah, i just ordered 2 sets to give them a shot on my sc10/t4.1. I dont ever really pop a cup unless like you said landing a little sideways just perfect or getting together with a crazy back marker. But these should provide a little piece of mind.

Im running a speed pasion brushless 4.5/GTB 2 20pin/78 spur combo

Chernobyl23 09-21-2012 12:43 PM

Thank's for your take Kuya,I'll try to drive better and avoid all contact...

No it is not. The owners are out of town that weekend with the holiday. They wanted fear farms date, but that was given to SRS, so meh. anyway. 14 laps in 6 minutes. not bad. Probably faster than me, :9 . lol. CH has jumps every 5 feet and I not that good at jumping.

This doesnt seem like a good rumor to start? Im sure if they aren't hosting that round they would have let Kenny know by now.

Wildcat1971 09-21-2012 03:48 PM

I was repeating what the ower of cv told me. He said he contacted kenny with no results

Seems like something that should stay off RCtech till resolved..

If you are looking for captive ball ends you could also get the Dubro units. They fit great on the stock AE titanium turnbuckles. They're dang strong and pretty much eliminate any slop from the camber connections. I've been running them on both my T4 and SC10 for a while now.
