BB shocks wont be any different in size than what you have on there now. No reason to move the camber links.

I just wasn't sure if I was going to need to add a larger spacer on the top to allow room for the larger shock cap to have clearance at the shock tower. Any spacer needed would push the shock further back.

Who knows, maybe this will be the new mod that all the factory guys will be running next week and it will be all over this thread repeated 100 times haha (ok maybe not but it would be funny)

The BB shocks I'm using are closer to the turnbuckle than my v2s using the same mounts. Enough that the turnbuckle was rubbing the shock body, not just touching the spring. I have no interference now.

Thanks for the pics

To me they look kinda strange maybe it's the color but I too prefer the dish look over slotted wheels. I have a few sets to burn before making the switch so maybe the JCons will be in stock by then.

I liked the old Cav body but the cab forward designs seem to be the body of choice. To me the paint job can make or break the look of CF body.

I'm old and resistant to change I guess...lol

But you arent using AE shocks so that doesnt apply to Tradin Paints situation. With the AE BB you will not need to relocate the camber link. They will be no different than the V2's with BB springs.

I would not say they are no different. 2mm spacers will be needed at the top. And that will push the spring back.

Wildcat1971 09-18-2012 02:24 PM

anyone run the .5 hubs on the t4? is it even needed?

gamedog1966 09-18-2012 02:28 PM

i tried it a while bcak cause my truck would kinda washout a lil bit in the high speed sweeper and it fixed that but it didnt rotate the way i wanted it to in the infield so i have to put the 0 deg hubs back and i just removed some of the drag brake and drove the sweeper smoother and that fixed all my probs there

2mm spacer is only needed in the front. The front camber link is in front of the shock. When you add the 2mm spacer it spaces the shock body away from the camber link. In the rear the spacer is not needed unless you run a 4th hole. Even then, a slight amount of clearancing on the rear shock tower and you don't need the spacer either.

But all this is based on BB shocks that no one has yet. We could get new shocks that drop right on with no spacers needed. That would be my guess.

I actually run the 1.5's. I know that is a bit extreme but I love how it handles. I still have plenty of steering

Odin544 09-18-2012 03:01 PM

what rear toe block?

I had rub marks on my V2s with stock springs, so I can't see how the link won't rub with a larger diameter spring. We'll see soon enough I guess.

The entire problem with the stock springs is the fact that they deflect under load. They rubbed on the camber link as well as the shock body. The larger diameter BB springs deflect a minimal amount. That is why they are smoother than stock AE springs.

I am going to run some laps with it tomorrow but wanted to see what you all thought

Well I ran some practice laps today and it seemed to handle pretty well, I didnt notice much of a difference even though the angle has changed quite a bit. I will be able to compare lap times tomorrow after a full race night
