On the U brace mod...are u only shaving down wher the ball stud goes or the whole brace?? and then u are taking 2 C hubs and sandwiching them together.

Just where the ball stud goes. Now its flat with the rest of the brace.
You only have to double up the jconcepts c-hubs and yes, put together. The associated ones you do not have to double up. I've ran the Associated ones for a while now and they are holding up nicely.

For what its worth I use STRC..alum u brace no shaving required...its a pretty basic mod just shave the raised plastic piece flat where the ball stud goes done.

Hey guys I just finished putting in all the electronics in my sons new ft t4. I did alot of homework before I built and broke in the ball diff. Hope I did it right gonna take him to the track this weekend to practice and finish making final adjustments before he starts racing it. ?My question is how do you know if you did a good job building the diff and also how do you know when its time to rebuild it? I have a couple of rebuilds kits and also a gear diff tranny on deck just incase something goes wrong during a qualifier. Gonna keep the gear diff tranny around till I get it down packed. Thanks ahead of time.

If the diff feels smooth, that is, if when turning the wheels against each other, you don't feel any resistance other than the diff itself, i.e. nothing notchy or crunchy, it's probably fine. If you feel any sort of clicking sensation or, as it wears, a unlubricated grinding, then it's time to rebuild. Don't overthink it and running a diff a little too tight will be both better for wear and laptimes than running it a little too loose.

I haven't rebuilt my diff at all with nearly weekly racing on it since February and in fact, my outdrives show more wear than the diff and I just replaced a worn idler gear but still have the original diff rings/balls/gear in there. My "secret" is Kyosho's diff lube is in a class of it's own and worth every penny.
