hpi vorza tekno conversion?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi there guys im new rctech but just wondering if its possible to throw my stock vorza parts and shocks ect onto a tekno v4 chassis "tkr4502"
any issues with it if anyone has done so?

AFAIK you will need the Tekno V4 D8 conversion kit and the D8 top plate for the center diff and all the rest of the Vorza parts will bolt right up .

This upgrade looks very interesting. What kind of difference does it make? I have a Vorza and I only race with it, no bashing. I'm also new to 8th scale racing and I'm looking to upgrade my Vorza for next season. Would this be the thing to do or should I look at other options?

It's suppose to reduce the weight of your vorza and gives you a lot better handling im hoping on getting this soon

Just for clarification, the eliterc motor mount will not work with the tekno v4 chassis as the motor orientation sits backwards. The eliterc mount will work on the tekno v3 chassis however as it still uses the same stock layout.

Anyone have any idea on getting the flux motor onto this v4 kit apart from grinding Down the heat sinks lol

The kit comes with a 42mm motor mount. I'm not sure what size diameter the flux motor is... but tekno has various sized motor mounts you can buy separately; the next size up is 44mm.

Ahh! I stand corrected then, Thanks for clearing that up.

Even their biggest mount will not fit the Tork motor

jhassing 12-14-2011 07:18 PM

Hey Cergai,

Did you find out any more about getting the Tork motor to fit in the v4 chassis?

jhassing 12-15-2011 07:31 PM

okay guys,

I sent an email to Tekno support to ask them what the options for the motor mount were and this is what they said.

"The only option is to grind the large lugs off of the Tork motor so it will fit into one of our mounts."

What about risk of overheating as a result of the mod?

"No risk of overheating. I don't think there is much heat dissipation from the blocks in the first place. As long as your setup is within reason (not running 6s for 20minutes straight for example), it should be fine."

Grid away! Or buy another motor.
