Normally a smaller spur will bring down temps if you're overgeared. Extreme undergearing can do the same thing (overheat) but it's fairly rare.
Don't you mean bigger spur? I kinda doubt the cure for overbearing is to gear it higher.

A Truggy should ideally be geared for between 35 and 40mph, what you have looks to be closer to 45mph so it's a tad overgeared, although 140f isn't anything to worry about on that motor.

Gear it 13/45 and you should be sweet.

Are you running two 2s packs in series. Or are the packs mentioned two different 4s,5s packs. I see the two packs you mentioned had different C rated packs. If you run two batteries in a series circuit they have to be matched. You need to dedicate two packs to running a dual set up( Same mAh, C, number of uses, etc) *If this is the case*
I would also guess the drivetrain to be the culprate. Check your drivetrain. Any resistance or binding ofcourse will couse the motor to run harder.
Try maybe another kit. If your able. I bought a Sidewinder Sport/4600 combo and NIB it ran really hot. No matter what I did it was hot. The ESC and motor. It was actually a faulty product. After going all the way down to 11t pinion and still fighting the heat I returned it for warrenty replacement. It turns out that was the problem.

Unless its too fast for you I would leave it alone , you have temped the motor and 140 isnt going to hurt it at all , you can go as high as 180-200 and not cause any damage . Heck 140-150 is the "sweet spot" meaning the motor will run best at that temp .

well it was a little to much for me before... I tried the 12t today and it was great. It barely got warm, and had plenty of power. Do you guys think that its ok or is that under geared? My track does not have big straights, but lots of turns and some big jumps...
