I went back to the stock servo arms after running aluminum arms and stripping servos...the stock arms are "servo savers" .

My stock servo horn didnt strip, a corner where it mounts to the servo cracked. I've never seen that happen, maybe its an aberration. I've also never run aluminum servo horns! I think I'll order an aluminum one if I can find a model that fits as well as the a plastic one. Are there any alternate plastic horns too?

You only need to make 10 minutes, why not right the lightest battery you can rather than load it up with a bunch of unnecessary weight?

I run the 3700mah Reedy Wolfpack 4S's and easily make ~15 minutes on big tracks and it's about half a pound (if not more) lighter than that 6400.
I'm not worried about weight. If I was I would get a serpent. My car is plenty capable of being in the A every week. It's just my choice to use it.

Running alum chassis braces takes away. Traction in the rear
Because there is no flex.. Those other kind are good the rod looking ones if u want to run other than the stock..

Also I run a ulum racers edge horn and it
Really needs to be longer so I can get full throw with
The steering,if u run it shortens up th throw because it hits on the servo link against the servo causing it to flex and strip ur horn over use and sometimes messing up your servo the stock one that comes with it is a tad longer but the plastic is weaker of course.. Ima gonna try and fine a ulum horn that is longer so I can get full lock myself..

I have a question a bout diff fluids. I was running 5/7/3 in my buggy and it always seemed good. I have never tried another diff set up. My question is would 5 in the center make it handle better in the bumps? would it affect acceleration?

Yes, going thinner in the center will help it track better in the bumps. It helps stop the front and rear of the car from fighting each other in rough conditions. I have gone all the way down to 3 in the center on a really rough track.

You will lose some on power traction, because most of the power will end up going to the spinning front tires. Although the buggy wont launch as hard, it will track much straighter.

I just started running the Ofna clamping style aluminum servo horns. They have the same length as the stock one but I needed to space my servo up to clear the radio tray with turnbuckle. Ofn10774
I never broke a stock horn but I did notice a lot of deflection in it when forcing the servo saver by hand. Yes that may help act as an additional "servo saver" but i prefer to use the actual servo saver for that. I also run a 7955 so broken servos are never a worry on my mind.

The JQ Products aluminum servo arm and the VP Pro aluminum servo arms both work great. They are raised enough to clear the top of the rx box without having to shim up the servo, and are long enough to allow full throw without binding against the side of the servo.

Of the 2, I like the VP pro better. Its cheaper and looks better. LOL Both work perfectly though.

There sure is a lot of knowledge in here! I guess I am going to order a stock servo horn and a long aluminum one. I'll get it sorted out!

New question... For the couple of packs I ran I was having trouble keeping the rear end planted under hard breaking. Is this an anti-squat issue? I dialed my breaking way down and it still did it. Any thoughts?

Is this is one? http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...rvo-Arm-Futaba

With my kit being delivered tuesday, should I invest in a different servo horn? I'll be running a hitec 7955tg with a HB aluminum servo horn.

Thanks

The issue I ran into with any of the aftermarket aluminum servo horns was that the steering arm contacted the servo. You will need a slightly longer horn. I am going to order another plastic one as well as an aluminum one (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...rvo-Arm-Futaba). Im hoping my break was a fluke, if it breaks I will just put the aluminum one on.

I see you race at LCRC, that is an awesome track. I relocated to Houston and I sure am missing it!

Does it continue to leak after you tighten the screws and wipe the excess away? It might just be overflow if you filled them a little bit too much. If it doesnt leak after the screws are tight you are fine!
