Would you be willing to pay 3x as much for the kit?

Absolutely... If it means bringing back the MILLIONS of jobs outsourced since the 1980's. And perhaps Wall Street could also start paying dividends again instead of hording TRILLIONS in cash! #OWS

On a side note... I pre-ordered mine from A-Main Hobbies on 8/17/2011.

How much do they cost to manufacture in China? How would you know they would cost 900$?

I'm not saying they would cost $900, but they would cost a LOT more if made in the US. And unfortunately, not everyone is willing to pay more, and it is a business.

I'm right there with you in that I would love to see a lot of stuff made right here at home in the US, but unfortunately, you can't make them in the US and still be competitive in the market place. I try to purchase as much US-native product I can (specially on large purchases, like vehicles and such), but there's also a lot out there thats made elsewhere. In the end, its all a business decision and what makes the best sense for a company selling product.

Default US made

A lot of the problem with making stuff inn the US is that there is no one in the US that is willing to lower the cost and price of things being made because starting with the very top everyone thinks they need to make a million dalliers anymore instead of all of the US people having jobs and being able to support there families so starting with the very top and we all know who that is needs to really rethink things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great. Ruin my 1 politic free forum hideout. Everywhere else I go I have to deal with left wing nut jobs and the penalize success movement known as the occupy idiots. My local town just kicked them out of the local park.

Maybe companies move elsewhere because the government has so many regulations and policies that hurt business instead of promoting it. Less intrution means more businesses here in the states. For every business that wants to open here there are 3 leftist wacko groups that try to stop them because they might cut down a tree or displace a bird or something.. I'm sick of it...........

Okay now back to the topic. Who's going to start with the kit setup or go right to the Evans setup??? My thought is how will I be able to tell if the evans setup is better if I don't try the kit setup first??

And this is why you can't buy an American-made television, LiPo battery, lead weight...

Sorry to dredge it on, monty, but you hit the nail on the head
