Keep it under 180 or so. That is the upper scale, but anything under that wont do permanent damage.

Use back the original front hex when you use RPM front offset arm

Default 2.8 Badlands on 2wd Slash

So I'm planning a new build and was wondering, would 2.8 Proline Badlands fit on a 2wd Slash?

Yes, you can, but the tires will rub on the body.

What body is that silver and red one? Looks much better than the stock one. I saw the JConcepts sticker, and looked on their site, but didn't see one that looked like that....

Default Open motor

I'm looking to start racing a 2wd slash in open class and need a motor. What should I be looking for? 8.5 or 10.5 or ?
What other upgrades would one do? Besides lcg chassisknow that you can sink a ton of cash and end up with just a ok racer. But still want to race it.

Does anyone know if 4 rear offset 2.8 rims will fit on a 2wd slash with the protrac kit installed? Or do I need 4 front offset rims? Thanks

If you're on a budget...Traxxas LCG chassis, Proline Protrac kit, see what the good racers are running for tires at the track where you plan to race. The Protrac kit comes with a set of wheels to mount your race tires on. The Castle Sidewinder 3800 motor/esc package is a beast for the money. Losi green 2" front springs and Losi blue 2 1/2" rear springs. Aluminum front bulkhead, caster blocks and rear hexes, RPM front bearing carriers, STRC hinge pins and king pins to eliminate the remainder of the weak links. Bad Horsey grease in the stock diff. SPC lipos...best budget priced batteries I've found yet.

The Protrac kit does many things for you. It gives you stronger shock towers, a-arms, rear bearing carriers, turnbuckles, and a good set of wheels that are the same offset as Losi 10SCTE wheels, so finding premounts will be easy in the future. The stock Slash has different wheel offsets front and rear. Not the case with Protrac. Also, the kit allows for more tuneability. You can move your camber links up or down to move the roll center up or down to adjust to track conditions. You have additional shock mounting locations front and rear, giving you the option of having linear or progressive damping. Another cheap mod is going to the Slash 4wd steering bellcrank. It is stronger and adds Ackerman, which can help the truck turn better.
