Default e-buggies...

my intrest in the electric buggies are growing every time i see them race here and the class is growing also. i have an ofna ravenger 4.5 that i used to race with in the nitro class but im tired of nitro. should i just convert my ofna to electric or would it be better to by an electric buggy layout kit? let me know what you all are running out there. im considering the 8e 2.0, rc8be, x-ray 808e. i know there are more out there and i would also like feedback on the other brands. tell me whats good and not so good about what you have. thanx

Personal Preference and local parts and setup support. I love Kyosho's but I run a RC8Be in e-buggy because it is easier to get parts and support because it is popular locally.

Tried out the hyper 9e and now on my second rc8be since I was dedicated to the amount of parts I had but if you can go to where you are racing and try em out would be best and what type of parts access you have locally. I was fortunate enough to test drive the eco and been thinking about that for next season.

I ran a Losi 8ight-E 2.0 for two years and just switched to a Mugen ECO. I really like the Mugen. It is further refined than the Losi. The Kyosho is a sweet buggy but the price is too much. Caster is unknown to me but might be great. There are other buggys that may be cheaper but most of the racers at the tracks I go to run the buggys I listed below.

I would get any of the following:
  1. Mugen Eco
  2. Losi 8ight-E 2.0
  3. Team Associated FT 8BE
  4. XRAY 808BE

The Hot Bodies Ve8 can not be beat for the price... Pick up aluminum skids as a mandatory upgrade! If price is of no concern, you can't go wrong w/ any major name brand company - Losi, Associated, Xray, Serpent, etc.

there is one sc8be at the track here and it just hauls ass and it looks very compact and light. i did see a kyosho running and it looked slugish compared to the sc8be. im going to look more into the mugen ans sc8be i think

I have it with the sluminum skids, the thing has been abused by my horrible driving, the only thing i have broken is the plastic steering arm, I cant belive how much abuse this thing takes, i couldnt tell you how many cart wheels and nose plants it's been through. i wouldnt by another brand because i know how built this thing is, plus it drives killer.
