difference between mamba max and mmp?

the MMP is a little more robust, thanks to more modern FETs and an added fan to keep it cooler. it can also be run up to 6s, thanks to a switching BEC. the MM is limited to 3s without an external BEC or 4s with an external BEC. the MMP doesn't need any mods to run 6s.

I need an external BEC to run both my MMP's. Just sayin'.

Whether or not you need an external BEC in conjunction with an MMP all depends on the other components within your setup.
I use an MMP in three of my rigs. All three rigs use XP1015 servos and KO Propo 2.4ghz receivers. SC10 4wd on 2s uses a 1410 3800kv motor and does not require a BEC. My SC8e with a 2200kv on 4s or 3s does not require a BEC. My Slash 4wd on 2s with a 2650kv doesn't require one either, but it did when I ran a Novak B4.5t with it.
