I am running basically the stock set up on my buggy. I have the v1 rear end but v2 gears. My diffs are 10 20 7 f c r. I am running .5 degree less to in in the rear and 2 degrees of toe out up front. I have the #2 ackerman bar also. Shocks have the 8 hole conical pistons, 500 front, 400 rear with stock springs. I added 1 mm of rear droop and it seemed to help the problem some. Should I add more?
This is my set up in regards to my problem with wandering/ spinning out under breaking.

Only one way to find out :-) Let us know how it worked out.

I always ran more down travel front and rear in the electric car than I did on the nitro car. It must be the heavier weight of the electric car. Whenever I tried the same long down travel on the gas car it wasn't as good.

Well after my first night racing I can say this buggy is gonna be great once I become more comfortable with it and fine tune to my drive style. Thanks serpent for a awesome car!

Whats a good motor/esc setup, with 4s shorty packs, for a small, tight indoor track?

Can a nice 4WD SCT motor/esc fit appropriately and help save weight?

Am I the only one who feels that this e-buggy is almost too quiet with a composite spur gear? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the fact that the drivetrain is so smooth that its silent. But It feels weird not to be able to hear it at all over the other e buggies. I like to be able to have some audible feedback from my vehicles. I'm considering going back to the metal spur gear just so I can hear my buggy.

I run on tight tracks. Add toeout for a bit more steering. The main thing you need is all the Ackerman plates. This is my baseline. Don't worry about the v1 Shocks and tower mentioned on the setup. Its not a difference in lap times. You may also like 10 deg spindle carriers as well.

There is no harm in that. My personal opinion is quieter is better.

If anybody with experience/knowledge/opinion wants to weigh in in regards to shorty packs vs. regular, I would like to know your thoughts. This is in addition to what I have already read in this thread.

10min mains. Large, outdoor, blown out clay track. I am primarily concerned with performance of the buggy.

I just pulled the trigger on a kit, so I have no experience with it yet.

The lighter you go the more ridged the kit becomes. Having some weight isn't a bad things especially if your dealing with a outdoor track. If your on a high traction track then I could see were shorties would be beneficial.r

Thanks bjj1. This is the type of advice I am looking for. The track is high traction: not quite blue groove, but there can be plenty of traction rolling.

Starting to lean slightly toward shorties;).

So what has been the trick to get these to turn better? Im running a tight, medium bite, indoor track. Im still fighting a little bit of a push and its not quite turning the way i would like it to.

On small tight tracks I like to take the front sway bar off.

IOP_Racer 02-22-2014 01:45 PM

Run less rear toe, toe out on the front, and you can also run more rear droop. Those are three major tuning items to use. Camber links, antisquat/kick up and camber may also be something to experiment with.

You running the stock Ackerman plate? Might try the #2.

On or off power? Most of the suggestions I am seeing will help with off power entry turn in. The ackerman adjusts should help across the board though. Lighter rear diff oil may also help with rear end rotation if it is on-power turning.
