Just ordered my kit today. I cant wait to get some wheel time with this car. The quality looks to be very good and the layout is very cool. Any must haves for this car? Thanks in advance.

Out if curiosity, has anyone trimmed back a little of the center diff/spur cover, to get a better view of setting the gear mesh? I figured if I trimmed back a short section of it, that it wouldn't hurt much :) I mostly set my pinion/spur mesh by feel, but since this is my first 1/8, and the majority of the 1/8 buggies/truggies out there, have a similar 'blindspot' when setting/checking gear mesh in that general area.. I figured someone might have come up with a trick or even a legit solution, to setting a gear mesh you can really see!? Lol.. And yeah yeah, I know all about the paper trick, but rather prefer setting the mesh and checking it visually.. :)

Thanks!

^+1 to that alt dimension thingy or whatever... I feel ya there, and its never been mentioned b4... so weird.

anyway, I actually don't even put the cover on until 'after' I set the gear mesh. and don't have any battery's in. Should be much easier that way, and I don't think the cover not bolted down is gonna affect the gear mesh setting, unless the diff pops out, but that hasn't happened, so the alum mounts seem pretty secure as it is

the cover seem like almost just a visual piece and I haven't had any issues doing it this way... but idk.

otherwise, I would prob drill a hole or series of holes (for a broader view of the gear) in the flat circular portion around the outside. I would not remove any material at the ends... or as little as possible so it still stays a strong piece.

and I do the paper thing too, but im trying to get better at using the 'feel' of it :p

Haha, alternate dimension thingy??? :weird: I'm so lost, dude! Haha jkjk

Yeah, I was actually planning on removing about a 1/4 inch up of the spur cover, itself, and if need be, I can fashion up a really nice graphite horizontal strap that'll keep the diff/spur mount stable, if the aforementioned removal of material proves to be too 'flimsy', for the whole assembly.

Also, has anyone removed any plastic, graphite, or aluminum material from any part of the Buggy, for an improvement of such? Or how about venting the body?? Anyone do that yet?

I actually removed the body mounts from the chassis, and used industrial 3M velcro on the sides of the tub/chassis and inner parts of the body. I can't STAND losing body clips! Haha :)

I would add e following
  • Webbed bladders
  • Front blue, green, yellow springs
  • Rear yellow springs
  • 2.0 rear sway (or an assortment of liver bars
  • Extra steering servo saver (some seem to strip it out)
  • Pistons of your choice csi, tapered 8 hole, etc
The car is a very easy build and doesnt need much but these help you dial it in.

This might be a silly question, but when installing the option 2 bar for the steering, do you use the centre holes ?

roflmao.. omg, that was MY race, I was the white buggy, that got stuck at the top of the big jump. oh my, I drove so horrible that day.

then, about a min later, u see the kid at the back of the track running over to the side, near the wall .. yeah, to get my car!! lol. I got serious air on the back jump, thought I was flying!! but landed off the track! took the poor kid like almost 15-20 secs to get to my car.

the race announcer let me cut the track a lap later to make up for it, but a few laps later, one of my battery joints broke! I was hoping to bump to the Amain, but battery gremlins had other plans! lol

thanks for sharing Frank :p
