I tend to agree with you but it depends on where he (or she's) running and what kind of track the world champion is running on. Maybe their local is an 1/8th scale track, although I'm just saying, it really depends on conditions.

Regardless, a 4.5 turn motor, is FAR too much even for a 1/8 track... At the end of the day, the lowest I'd go on an off-road 1/10 is a 6.5 540 motor, being that you need SOME torque, to yank out of corners with... 6.5 and below, is usually in the realm of on-road cars, only, since torque isn't a prerequisite.

Long story short, get rid of the 4.5 and don't be stupid.. C'mon man.

Here are a few pics of my belt anti skip device, I had one on my car about 7 years ago worked well. I think it is needed now seeing that the motors and batteries are way better than back then. ???? input would be helpful.

That's one of the best mods I've seen for this buggy. Should allow you to run the belt looser without skipping under braking right? Less drag... good stuff.

Being that I have been out of the hobby for about 6 years I am unsure what the motors are like these days, I am used to 10x2 motors and 1700mh to 2000mh batteries I wish I could understand the winds today?? I think I will be trying a 6.5 to 7.5 Tekin motor not sure yet. With running the belt a little looser and the brace on top it should not skip under braking.

I'd lean towards the 7.5. 6.5 is a wild ride for this chassis and slipper within it's fictional range.... IMO.

Especially after a long hiatus like I had from rc.

A Main, Losi Parts House, Horizon Hobby, etc. Internet my friend. Your best bet, and widest selection, guaranteed. Won't have EVERYthing, but it'll have damn near close to everything

Is there a substitute for the discontinued Losi bellcranks?

Which ones, for the XXX-4? Or for the steering mod?

For the XXX-4 without the steering mod, you can substitute the stock steering rack (LOSA1540) for the XXX-CR Steering Rack and Bellcranks (LOSA1620 & LOSA1621), which is pretty much a direct bolt-on.

For the XXX-4 with the steering mod, the parts used are the JRX-S Bellcranks (LOSA1543), used in conjunction with Phelps' (Vision Racing's) CF Steering Rack.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

Ps, all of the above can be found online. Just google the part numbers I gave you. Someone is bound to have it.

Cheers!

The discontinued bell cranks he was talking about are the one off of the JRX-S. You can't just Google the part number and find some. They are a discontinued part that have been in high demand. You see, when the 22 came out, a lot of people that ran a 22 wanted a Losi 4wd. The team guys were still running XX4's and highly modified XXX4's, so that is what all the new TLR bandwagon fan boys wanted too. One of the mods on the XXX4 was the Phelps steering mod using the 1543 bell cranks (I still remember the part number because I had a way to get a free XXX4 and was frantically searching for the parts to build the car up with all the mods). Aside from buying a complete JRX-S you will not find these parts.
