You charge LiPo's at 1c which means 5.0 amps for a 5000mah 3.6 amps for a 3600 4.0 amps for a 4000mah...ect...
Here's a good site to read up on Lipo's http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-lipo-batteries.html Credit to findong this site goes to Duster_360...

The lower you charge the better. and longer it will take to charge. 5 amps is cool, see the manufactures settings,,, set your cut off, so that you don't under charge, and nuke the battery, running the car tell it stops can damage the battery, The bigger the MAH the longer you can run.

Or are you asking about amperage which everybody else seems to be assuming?

Yes, but I would suggest it is still good advice...for someone just starting out, not yet up on the basics.

If you are talking about charge current which you probably are since most newer chargers auto detect pack voltage or at least the ones I've used. For every 1000mAh you add 1A for 1C. If your packs can take higher then you had however many amps per C the pack is rated for.
5000mAh @ 1C = 5A
5000mAh @ 2C = 10A
5000mAh @ 5C = 25A
and so on...
5000mAh @ 1C = 5A
5000mAh @ 2C = 10A
5000mAh @ 5C = 25A
and so on...

First off once you go lipo you'll never go back.... just a few things one its always the best practice to charge at 1C. You can charge at 2c and even 5C, but you can drive your car with your feet if you want to its just not a great idea... Lipos can be dangerous if not respected. Second always balance not just charge its much better on the cells. And third always use some sort of lipo cut off in what ever you are using them in. Oh and one more thing read a bit on how to check cells and get a little tester and USE it... its good to know whats going on with your batteries. A lot of the problems I see with fires and damage is because people don't care until something goes wrong. A little " Preventative Maintenance " goes a long way.

It is how the charger charges the cells individually at the same time think of charging batteries like filling 5 gallon buckets with water and each cell is its own bucket. Get it? Now if you just charge the batteries you set the buckets side by side and fill one till its full and overflows into the next bucket. This is not ok for lipos they do better if you set the buckets side by side and fill them with the axact same amount of water at the same time and keep them equal all the way till there full at the same time which is equal to 4.20volts this is kinda vague but I hope it helps

Hey there madman but I just noticed your profile forgive me for not noticing earlyer, its because I'm using a smart phone and not a laptop,,,forgive me for asking but are you just messing with me??? Over 5000 posts and your asking little old me about balancing liposuction, excuse me but I bet you can buy the components to make your own lipos anyway you want to. Your one of the smart guys on here.
