Like the thread says. Just bought a Losi SCTE

What motor ESC should I buy. I will be running a 2S lipo for racing. I used to run losi 8ightE and didn't really care for the castle creations.....those were all KV rated. I see Tekin is turns. I would say I am a solid Intermediate driver.

u need something with more torq. those trucks are heavy. get something like the novak 4.5 w/ a MMP speed control. i dont think you will be able to fit the MMM 2650 in there

Look at the first page of the losi 4x4 thread. There is a list of motors, which work.

Depending on your track conditions you can't go wrong with an RX8 ESC and CC 1410 3800kv, this is their new 4 pole design and seems to be a great setup.

Motor runs cools and has great torque on 2S. A guy at our track runs one in his Losi SCTE and rails with it. This is our layout and we run 10 minutes on it.

Guess you have never used the "search" on this site. Has to be one of the worst I have ever seen on a forum. 90% of the topics that come up do not pertain to what you searched for.

go to advanced search and choose titles only. Works like a charm. Anyway, the existing thread on the losi has a TON of info about motors, etc, etc...

Anyways. So the RX8 is a 1/8 scale ESC which can work with a 550 motor.

rx8 w/ tekin redline sc4x motor will be the smoothest set up on the block! super fast and torque-e too.

rs pro, or lrp comp e.s.c. would also work fine.


or run the mamba max pro short course set up. Not as smooth but insane power.

I've ran all of the above set ups.

havnt seen the combo installed in a Losi yet but I would recommend a Tenshock sc401 motor and Hobbywing SC8

Works great in all the other 4wd SC trucks.
