I'm really not sure what I want. I just know of the slash. That's why I wanted to know what you guys thought since everyone know more then I do at this point.

Maybe a MT or Stadium truck then. IMO Short course trucks arent "that" great for bashing. Good in the dirt, but not so good in the grass and around the neighborhood. Maybe a Rustler VXL, Firestorm, Stampede VXL or 4X4, or the BIG BOYS..Savage 2350, Flux, E Maxx, E Revo
But a good 1/10 stadium trucks are the best bashers without spending $500. My personal choice would be a Rustler VXL with a few RPM parts on a 2s or 8.4v Nimh and you'll be rippin it up!

I don't want it to be breaking all the time and I don't want to have tons of issues with this thing. The only stipulation with what I get is I have to be able to get it off amazon. I know that's kind of odd but I have 300.00 credit with a max budget of around 400.00 so that's where this is going to be purchased. I see a lot of people not recommending the slash is it that bad? From what I had seen in youtube reviews I didn't think it was that bad. Oh and I would like it to be able to handle 3s lipos out of the box
If you want to run with your friend with a real rugged 4x4 SC truck that can handle more than 2s out of the box, then honestly you need yourself an SC8e as well.

for what you have described, you cant go wrong with the Slash 4x4.

but as you have seen here, and will continue to see, there is no shortage of opinions in this hobby.

Here's why i suggest the Slash- tough as hell, the only thing i have ever broken on mine is a rear axle carrier, and that was running in sub zero temps which made the plastic brittle. For $6 i put RPM axle carriers on and havent had another issue. The other thing is to look at what your LHS stocks for parts. Most have a large selection of Traxxas parts on hand. It sucks to break something and then have to wait for an online order to come in before you can go run again.

it will accept a 3S lipo no problem. it is also the only waterproof 4x4 out there, so you can run it anywhere.

The Slash 4x4 is great for bashing because it takes a beating and parts are cheap and readily available. It is a pretty safe choice for a "fun" truck that is also decent for club racing. If you plan on more serious racing you will probably want to consider the Losi, Associated, or something similar.

its complicated. thats why i said to look it up.

the sc10 comes as a kit, so you have to buy a power system, servo, radio, receiver, etc...there is a lot of research involved in that process. the kit alone is $250

Sorry if I came off as an ass, I looked it up and all I found was the kit. I'm really looking for something that's ready to run. Mailing just because I don't feel like building something. If it came in a bind and drive version that would be great since I have a dx3s but a good old out of the box rtr is fine with me for right now.

IMO I would say get the slash 4x4. Good basher and its rtr so you will probably save some money over buying another kit that you would have to add everything to.
