RC Insurance Poll

If you were to be offered insurance to protect your RC investment, would you, or would you not take it for the right premium?

Yes / No

Are you talking collision or theft and fire .:lol:

this has to be the most pointless thread ever.

$5 a month and they cover EVERYTHING!

Sarinexia 03-04-2011 09:28 AM

Lets leave the type of insurance open:

For now, lets just assume some is being offered. If it's just for comprehensive (e.g. the fire / flood / theft) - It would naturally have a lower premium then collision - similar to auto.

The only thing not provided will be liability insurance. No claims are being made for someone driving into another's ankles and shattering it into a million pieces - then having to pay a suit for pain and suffering.

We're talking property coverage only.

Would you:
Yes - take it (if the premium is right)
No - Not take it regardless of premium
Maybe - Undecided.

That's +1 that would consider it. Premium may be a smidget too low, but that's 1! :D

Any others?

Stupid is as stupid does FTSC :D
And I'll take that as a no. :ha:

Anyone else?

Yes - 1
No - 1
Maybe

even a high end RC has tremendously low value in terms of insurable items

insuring a $700 item with a $500 deductible is not smart

No mention of deductibles. Just simply, if a policy was offered, would you consider taking it?

$25.00 deductible (The insured must take on some type of risk)

I would not insure just one ride.

If i were to even think about it, it would have to be insured as say a $10k collection of all of the latest and greatest vehicles and equipment.

Even then it still doesnt make much sense?

If it did im sure there would be a few policies around.

Not sure if you could claim it under a home-owners if you had that much? They would probly deem it as an unacceptable request.

Surely it would not be needed at the track as it is a rare occasion when someone walks off with your stuff. People are there to race you and have fun, what good would that be? High probability of being caught even if someone had that bright idea.

Now say leaving your stuff unattended when bashing at the park is just stupid to begin with... You know it will grow legs there...

FantomLeopard 03-04-2011 09:51 AM

Would it insure me against those lame SC drivers who think SC stands for monster truck?? If so then yes ;)

T-BirdJunkie 03-04-2011 09:52 AM

If this is like ThunderbirdJunkie's Jeep's policy and covers vandalism and glass for no deductible then absolutely.

racer1812 03-04-2011 09:53 AM

Under my current policy all my stuff is covered under my renters/home owners policy. As long as I document it, easy with a camcorder. I'll pay a $500 deductable to have 7-8 grand replaced. In case of a fire I make sure we're covered with a limit that will pay for all the stuff in the house PLUS my 7-8k in toys.
