Default sc10 servo recomendation

How much steering servo do I really need for a short course truck and who has the best bang for the buck? The traxas 2075 is going for around $20 on ebay but they are around 2 ounces from what I have read. Do you need over 100 oz tq or is just preferred? I am not spending $80 on a servo i dont need.

Those servos are good but pretty slow. I'd go for something under .11 for speed.
I run nothing but Orions in my sc10 and 8ight. This is whats in the sc10:

If thats to pricey go with the Savox, It is almost identical:

i just installed one of the hobbypartz 227 servo's he listed above and it is quite good, .09 sec transit, very fast and 111oz of torque. It is a great servo, you might have it a couple of years from now like you would a futaba or jr, but for the money they are another awesome find. they use a 25tooth servo horn the same as futaba

That is a really good servo but if you are looking for something with more torque, i would look at the Savox 1258TG. A little loud but very, very nice and well worth the money.

I'm sure those are sweet, but are they 5x as sweet? Slightly slower, slightly more torque, 5x the price. I mean...it's an sc10, the front end weighs nothing anyway.

Actually, it's slightly faster and alot more torque:

Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .08
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 166.6

But I do agree that for the money the EXI servo's are great for the money. In fact, I have 2 of them in my kids Blitzes. I just think for an SC truck you really need 150 or more torque and for the money the Savox servos are waaayyy better at $60 then some of the others that are over $100...

the 1258 is faster then it lists.

Savox servos are great. and also take a 25/Futaba spline.

How many splines are on the exi servo. Mine came in yesterday and I have tried two servo savers from my futaba servos and it wont go on. probably would if I forced it but figured id ask first. the steering linkage on my 10T does not have a servo saver built into it so I need one on the servo. thanks
