Ok when I was younger I was that kid actually:
That had to win
That had to have the best stuff all the time
That had to bitch about everything and anything
That I won alot but people would say he such a smart ass
That kid is a wheel but acts like he is better than everyone
Now many many years later, fast forward to now I'm that guy
That loves to help anyone who wants
Don't care if I get out to practice every practice session
Enjoys helping guys dial in their stuff
Loves BS'ing in the pits as much as racing
Helps out in the hobbyshop even if I miss my heat
Don't care so much about where I finish
If I wreck someone when trying to pass........I wait and let them have the postion back
Everyone knows me as now the guy to come to for help about setup, wiring up their electronics, the guy who knows how the shop runs the races and so on.
WOW what a change over 20 plus years and thank god it was for the better. I love being that guy that people come to for advice and respect me enough to ask my opinion. Man I value that people at the track have that kind of respect for me.

I know people that get dead last each week and not once have I seen
them complain. But there are other's that throw a hissy fit when
something doesnt go there way or thier truck isnt doing what it's supposed
to or someone bumps into them and messes them up.
Things like that I see happen all the time, it's just a normal thing.

that guy who spends thousands on equipment but still insists on trying to make a triple lap after lap, even though he crashes every time and has to be marshalled.
This guy is funny to watch unless you're that poor turn marshal who has to keep getting this idiots car.

never cared for "that guy" that drives standing in the middle of the track, blocking a section of the track. Its one thing to walk down there and check for damage and maybe a test lap, but then its time to get out the way!

I'm the guy as a kid was asked by all the wimps to
try the big bmx double & triple jumps first. My dad &
sponsor once told me I'd win more races if I stayed on
the ground more. I know I'd be faster at Short Course
racing if I didn't try to jump everything.

No, I just usually find that it's the same guy who spends and spends because he can't get his car to handle properly when the real problem is that he doesn't know when to double single. Even when the fast guys aren't trying the triple, this guy will keep trying and keep landing on his lid and he will keep trying to buy more and more stuff to make his car handle the big jump.
