Default My Jammin CRT.5E Build...

Thought I'd throw my lastest build up for review... I've got a Scrt-10 and have been racing it locally. I've done alright w/ it and usually end up around the middle of the pack. It's a fun truck and I'll keep on using it.

Everyone knows practice is key to the game. My local track usually has a "controlled practice" on monday nights. The practice time is great and the price is right, $5. The problem is the practice time gets split between the 1/10th buggy guys, and all CORR trucks.

The 1/10th buggy guys are good, some of the CORR truck drivers are not, and some are worse than bad. My poor SCRT10 was taken a beating. So I thought how could I get in to practice w/ the 1/10 guys? Enter the CRT.5, mostly same parts, should drive similiarly, and is super cheap on ebay right now. SO here we are... practicing w/ the 1/10th scalers.

Here's a video of a practice session.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfcUPDkdMYA

Heres' what I got in it.
1. 3800kv Castle SC motor/ MMP
2. 2s 5000 turnigy 30/40C
3. Traxxas big bore shocks
4. Stock wheels and tires, stock bow-ties aren't great on the indoor track, but work well enough. Will change to a larger 2.2 tire later on.
5. Diffs are 5,5,3. Works well, will probably go to 3,5,2 next time around.
6. Shifted the center diff over to lay battery flat and even the weight side to side.
7. Used SCRT-10 motor plate, esc tray, rx tray and battery tray.

I've had it out to the track twice now. It was turning some pretty decent lap times. It's a lot of fun on the track and w/ a little more tuning should be even better.

Looks good I am planning the same conversion as I have one under the Xmas tree . I have the scrt motor mount and rec/bat / esc gear ready to go in . Did you run the battery upright at all ?Does it fit under the body? I normally run 1/8 gear but I love the mini's awesome fun.

Thanks, yeah I ran the battery in the upright position. There's no problem w/ the body fitting either way. Post up some pics when you get it done.

I should have a video to add soon.

That's good to see the CRT.5 making a come back. I've got two that are E-conversions. If anyone is in need I'd sell one for CHEAP. Drop me an email or PM for details.

Check the video in the first post. The sound coming off that drop-off is brutal. In that video, I'm running the stock shocks w/ white springs.

I robbed the traxxas big-bores off my Scrt. They should be better. There's a ton of info on RC monster in the mini-truggy section. Jato/Revo shocks for the front and 1/8 fronts for the rear...

None yet.

I have made a few changes. Went 3/5/1 in the diffs, and also added my traxxas shocks. Hopefully I'll make it to the track Monday night.
