Default 2wd buggy wings

How do you guys keep your wings from breaking. They have broken along the bend in the back. I've gone through 2 in about 4 months. Other than not crashing, how do you keep them in good shape. I'm not good enough yet to not crash.

I just buy spares from jconcepts, cheap enough to have a few around. When they start to crack, I cover the back and underside with strapping tape, saves them for a little longer, but really ugly looking.

I always keep one or three spares ready to go at any one time!
They break and they are cheap, thats why I don't even bother painting them any more!

That makes sense now. Everyone at my track with 1/10th buggies has clear wings. I wondered why but now i know.

You can stretch the life out a little with shoe goo, as well as the tape mentioned earlier. Think I've seen some guys patch them up a little with a lighter or soldering iron, kinda weld the cracks together. But still need to replace them occasionally. I consider them a consumable, like tires.

I've been using these off a Jammin CRT.5 for the past 2 years, there just like 1/8 scale wings, only smaller, and they come in 5 different colors.
I've have yet to break this one, all though I have not been racing as much as I use to.

Doesnt look like you would get much downforce with those though.

Yeah, but do wings actually help traction going at these kind of speeds. I know they help for nascars or dragsters b/c those are fast.

I tried one on my HB D4 and I couldn't tell a difference! Plus they weigh a bit more than a stock wing so maybe that could help, more weight over the rear tires!

I might try this on my RB5?

Go drive your buggy without a wing... you will make it half way around a track and want to pull the car.

Big difference

u line bedliner spray to help make it last although the shape/design doesnt help with strength. they need to make a thicker lexan wing

I'm no pro, but I really could not feel any real difference in down force either.

wings are cheap! a buggy body lasts forever because it never touchs the ground really, the wing is what takes a beating and unless your name is Ryan or Tebo it's gonna happen. A cheap wings is easier on the wallet than a ST or SCT body is and those get hammerd too..
