I have a Thunder AC6 and I love it! It will charge any battery you have up to 5 amps.

If 2 cel lipos are what your going to charge than any 50w ac/dc will do fine..If you plan on doing 4+ cells lipos IMO the 50w chargers just dont cut it..

So does this mean the Thunder AC6 (http://www.hobbypartz.com/thac6smbachw.html) isn't good for 4S packs?

Running 2s Lipos (Turnigy 5200mah 30c) for my SCRT10 with Novak Havoc Pro ESC and Novak HV 4.5, with DS 1015 servo and a DX3S radio.

Many both on here and locally have suggested the Thunder AC6 as a well rounded charger for me. For $55 seems like a good deal. Anyone disagree with this charger?

It won't charge 4S-6S packs at 5A (at least not 3000mah-6000mah packs that are common to 1/8 scale)

Stay away from 50W chargers if you are into 1/8 electric, get something that can handle 200W or more. Even if you only run 2S if you buy a decent charger you can charge 2 packs at a time. Invest in something decent that can handle more power and you won't regret it.

He is charging at 1.2A on a 5S pack. If you are running a 1200mah pack that would take about an hour. If you are running a 5000mah 5S pack charging at 1.2A will take about 4-5 hours. I guess if you don't mind waiting that long?

The max you can charge a 5S pack with a 50W charger is about 2A.

Maybe those 50W can work for planes and helis that use 500mah-2000mah packs, but for 1/8 electric they don't get the job done.
