If you buy the radio from Asia you will have no warrenty and some peolple have had problems like lines going out on the screen so its good to have the US warrenty. If you buy it from Asia you will have to pay for repairs that would otherwise be covered under warrenty. The Asian/ European Megatech model also doesnt come with the rechargable pack or charger. It comes with a dry cell tray instead.

You can return it to where you brought it.

We have to send our stuff back to the states.

comes standard with a pack, i do beleive and a charger too

thsi radio can be very pickey about brands though, i use a novac receiver (i bought the hrs model, as that was the only one the shop had)

i bought mine in japan, and after the frequency conversion and new receiver, it was still $100 less

Well i got it, it's on its way here. I'm charging up my basher 1500 6-cell packs for some "testing" LOL this is gonna be fun!!
