13.5 would probably be enough at this track. I run at this track pt raceway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQLuG...470BB628D0F155 and you can check out the video page. For most guys fastest needed is a 13.5. it is pretty small and on carpet. I run a 10.5 and it is plenty fast, stays cool and I even turn it down to 90% epa on futaba radio to keep in control.

Has anyone tried the lowered wing mod that Brent Thielke was explaining at the Indoor Nationals in Mass. this past weekend?

The video is really shitty, so it was tough to see exactly what he was talking about. Apparently you take B4 wing mounts and a B44 battery post and I don't know from there.

A friend sent me this picture just a minute ago. You need B4 wing mounts, longer screws to go through the shock tower and bulkhead, and a b44 battery post. I don't know how many slams this wing configuration can take, so if you have difficulty keeping you car right side up, I don't think I would recommend this mod to you. Enjoy!

Looks like you just use the B4 wing mounts and the battery post is used to go between the two mounts, where the transmission sits on the B4.

Terrible video, but the mod seems pretty easy.

A minute to late... what Kyle said!

I was looking at the stock mounts and how they could be modified to do the same thing. This is how it turned out.

You just cut the bottom of the mounts off, don't take too much off, do a little at a time until it sits flat on the tower mount. The aluminum piece between is 20.2mm. You will see a couple of round mold marks in the mount, drill a hole in the center of each of those and then screw it together. Drill out the holes in the tower mount so a screw will slide through the mount, that way it will tighten properly.

One thing I didn't do yet but might if the screws pull out is to drill a hole so a small 3/16" nut can be slid in for the mount screws can have a little metal to bite into.

I am in dudes . Just picked a new B44.1 today . Any tips for the build that I should know about ? What motor and ESC are you guys running ? I have an extra MMP and 1410 motor . Would that be to much ? Is a sensored motor the way to go with this buggy ? What parts should I stock up on ? I am thinking front arms . Any other tips for running this buggy ? I am so stoked !! Sold my 4x4 SC truck and 1/8th scale buggy to get the B44.1 . I am planning on running a XP1015 Servo . Will that be a good choice ? I will be running at a large indoor track . OCRC in So Cal . to me it doesnt really look like this mod would do anything but give you less rear downforce/rear traction. I know in 2wd when I dropped the wing down on the rb5 there was less rear traction.

another way to get the same end result is to cut the wing a little more in the back. jcon had 2 maybe 3 lines for the height of the back of the wing. If you just cut it lower so less air comes through you will get less rear traction. a lot easier than to cut your mounts and attach a batter post to it.

LRP 7.5 motor with an MMP speedo.

I am suprised you reccomended the MMP ESC . And not a LRP or Tekin or Novak even . IS that what you are running ?

Ya, I'm not sure what the overall effect will be. Was just looking for a better way of doing it rather than using B4 mounts. This way has better support for the wing since it is not just floating off the 2 screws.
