best stock motor
Hey i dont have the money to afford a brushless right now. So i need to know. What is the best stock brushed motor for racing? I want something that will be able to keep up with the brushless cars. Is there anything that will do that? Thanks

Before I switched to my Duo 17.5 and SXX Competition, I was running about the same lap times with a Trinity CO27 (with a Trinity Endbell Fan) and a LRP Quantum 2 ESC. However, the motor had Trinity XXX silver brushes in it, so the grand total to buy everything to have what I ran would be:
CO27 motor - $30 give or take
XXX Laydown Brushes - $12
Trinity Endbell Fan - $25
Total - $67
Total for my Duo 17.5 - $65
If you already have a brushless esc, you're much better off just saving the extra bucks and getting a brushless motor. If that's not the case, then you can get by a while with brushed, but the weekly maintenance and the cost of motor spray and such adds up as well.
And if you want to keep up with brushless guys, the endbell fan is a must because you have to gear pretty aggressively to get the most out of the motor.
And cheating is for people who can't win by doing things the right way.
