Default ? on motor cooling fan ?

ok, i bought the integy blue heat-sink with the cooling fan. heres the link-

http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p...32&p_catid=109

well, after jumping for a bit, the fan broke off. so now im just using the heat-sink. im only running 7-cell batts. but should i get a different heat-sink like this-

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJD62&P=7

or will the one im using now work ok. eventually im going to 3s 30-40c lipos. i kinda want to stay away from the fans because it will probably break off again. any suggestions? thanks. heres a pic of my current heat-sink. its kinda hard to see, but you can see where it is.

Its true that if its geared right you dont need them but i like the fact that the cooler the ESC and motor run the longer you can expect it to last.

what kind of temps are you coming off with? I personally wouldnt buy the other heatsink since you already have 1,just take off the bracket for the fan & you should be all good since I seen in your pic that you have an Alum motor plate & tranny case that gets rid of the heat also.

im not really sure on temps. i dont have a temp gun yet. but its not real hot. yea i guess the heat-sink i got now is ok. plus the alum. gearbox. plus i got cut-outs on the body to let air in.
