Default What are the best upgrades you've made for your Slash?

Thought it would be cool if people could share their favorite upgrades/hop-ups for their slash. Please just upgrades for the Slash though.
I am am pretty knew to the hobby so I have only upgraded to the VXL system (awesome!) and RPM gear cover (no more replacing gears!). I changed to 60 weight oil for shocks, and I got metal shocks caps

VXL and bigbore shocks for rear is all you really need to bash and begin racing... i have also changed to RPM (among other things) rear skid plate as it has an additional mounting point to try to change the stress put on the rear of the chassis...

buy spare caster blocks for the front, then just replace parts as necessary

bowtie tires front/rear will also help alot on the track and most bashing

Be careful with the Pro-Line parts. Or at least be aware that you may need to purchase a Pro-Line 5.5mm nut driver to install the Pro-Line 17mm adapters. I went through 5 different 5.5mm nut drivers and finally had to grind one down for it to fit.

But yeah, I'm interested in this thread as well. 17mm hexes are pretty much the only upgrade I have on mine at the moment. Can anyone speak to the benefits of the center differential?

EDIT: This thread intended for the 4x4 or 2WD?

I was a fan of the MIP CVD kit for my 2wd slash before I sold it.

I also would go with the MIP Ball-Diff if you're going to be racing.

The Pro-Line Pro-Trac Kit(will add 1-2 seconds to your current lap times)

Rear Pro-Line Skidplate(if your running the Stock chassis) Eliminates seperate pieces for rear bumper.

Pro-Line Powerstroke Shocks(updated and bulletproof) Optional Springs Remind me of a kyosho shock with REAL progressive springs.

When you are ready to take your Slash to the next level-
Xtreme LCG Chassis.

I have to say I am a Slash Driver at heart and I can easily hang with all the Kyosho, Associated and Blitz Guys.

1. RPM Gear Cover (very important)
2. STRC Steering bell crank
3. STRC battery strap
4. JConcepts Goose Bump tires (for outdoor)
5. Lunsford hinge pins
6. RPM f/r skid plates, f/r bumpers
7. 300,000 wt differential fluid
8. Boca (green seal) bearings all around.

Moving the shock positions out 1 from the stock settings and changing the shock oil made a huge difference in handling.

First thing I did was rebuild shock's using RPM shock piston's, MIP CVD's
and instead of the plastic pin holder I used shrink tubing.

Then Prolines shock towers, Alloy shock cap's and Boca Bearing's.
Lastly I used the 4wd rx box as the new rx box, and used the old rx box
as the new ESC box (Tekin RS) so now it is pretty sealed up,shock resistant.

Did you get the carbon fiber or g10 xtreme lcg chassis, and how durable is it?

My Slash has the following upgrades that seem to work for me

Losi XXX-NT shocks
Proline ProTrak Kit with Brace
RPM Skids Front and Rear
Traxxas Slash 4x4 Steering Rack/Servo Saver
Traxxas Aluminum Ft Steering Knuckle and Caster Block
RPM Gear Cover.

I have taken quite a few wins with some very fast drivers with this setup. The truck certainly has it advantages on big loose tracks I will give it that. To me its still the best SC truck money can buy, plus its from one of my favorite companies.
