Default Novak Ballistic 550 question!!!

I just got home from Hobbypeople with a new Novak Ballistic 550 5.5 motor for my Slash 4x4 and i got my Novak GTB replacement back from Novak a week or so ago. neither of which have been out of the box untill today (about an hour ago ). anyway my question is, is there any problems with the ballistic 550. this thing coggs real bad at low rpm and it sometimes need a swift kick in it's a$$ to get started. not sure if it the new motor or the new ESC.
any info would be greatly appriciated. thanks, Steve

Not to sure but, I don't thimnk that esc can run a 5.5 Ballistic, if so maybe check your batteries. I heard that you need a 30c or higher to get them moving without cogging.
I am fairly new to E-RC but not a idiot..... I would check motor limit on the ESC first.

check your sensor wire, gotta be something with that....or i dont think the gtb is rated for a 550 motor, make sure all your motor leads are soldered on the proper tabs, a b c

Talking

There are many people in the Jammin and Hyper thread that have posted tons of info with ESC/550 motors on 2S.

I recommend a external BEC. Castle or Novak!

I run this one!

It probably wouldn't run even with a push start if the a,b,c phases are crossed. I know mine didn't! It just hesitated real bad and went back and forth. I use a capacitor for BEC control like the glitchbuster but I wouldn't pay $11 for one. I got one just like that Novak one for $3 at my LHS.

The Ballistic 550s are compatible with our GTBS. Because I am not part of Novak's technical support group, I suggest you email [email protected] with your question, Our regular CS/Tech Support hours can be located here. Before emailing, take a moment to review the instructions (trouble-shooting guide) originally included with your Novak Item:
