Sounds like it could be the battery especially if it has been cycled quite a bit. Switch to lipo you want ever want another nimh pack again.

It is a 3000 mah lipo with the traxxas connectors on it. I would buy a lipo but I have heard that unless you get a really really really good one they arent worth the price. Is this true or is my LHS pullin' my leg?

EDIT: It is a fairly new battery, I have only cycled it through maybe 10-15 times

So what does your lhs recommend?

Sounds like bs - you don't have to spend a ton of cash to get a good one.

I've got a 5000mAh 20C Zippy ($25 + shipping) and run it in a T4 with Mamba 4600 and it's very fast. Same battery used in my HPI Blitz and it's very competitive in stock SCT. I do intend to bump up to 30C soon.

Of course, Castle recommends a high-output LiPO for their motor setups. 3000mAh may be small in terms of what you could be using. Smallest LiPO capacity I've used is a 3600 mAh 30C in a B4 buggy with a 10.5 novak.

I drove the car yesterday and notice only my right rear was getting power so i took it apart and found out that both my D-bones were bent and only one could get power. Fixed that and it went a little better. Went to my LHS and got a 5400 mah 7.4v 2s Lipo made by Venom. Dropped it in the car and this thing runs like CRAZY! I <3 lipos!
