I can just envision that conversation now "...look honey I cleaned out the spare bedroom just like you've been asking me to, and WOW, I seemed to have found all of my Rc stuff, ain't that funny!" Later that night on the evening news the headlines will read "...area man found bludgeoned to death with what appears to be a remote control radio of some sort, wife suspected in the beating....!"
My wife hates my RC habit so I never bring anything in the house, the only drawback is my garage isn't environmentally controlled so the winter time gets a bit tough. It's amazing how much you can still do when you can't feel your fingers:weird:! Now there are times when I get a lot of eye-rolling. Like, "Honey, I was thinking about buying another (insert something here...wheels, race tires, etc etc)." One thing she never gives me grief about is safety equipment. I remember when I told her how much a HANS would cost. She didn't even blink and said "Buy it." :D Now, when she saw the quote for the brake replumbing project, that was a different story. |
Need some advice. I'm away to charge my Reedy 720 (4S/14.8v/5000mah). It's max rating for charging is 10A but my charger only does 6A. Will i be good charging it at 6A 1st time or should i drop that to something lower for the 1st few charges?

Thanks! this is perfect. I'm keeping my eye out for a set up station but even the integy's pricey. I want to tear it down and re-do everything before I race it.

Yes a ride height guage is necessary as is a camber guage. For large outdoor offroad tracks I ran the following setup with great success:
5/5/5 diffs 10 hole GHEA pistons Stock front springs/OFNA yellow rear springs 25/25 shock oil 28/30 ride height front to back Great car and this setup gives it a very neutral setting! |
Tekin system changeover
I am thinking about going to a Tekin system for my rc8be. Should i go with the 1900 or 2050. all im doing is racing.....mainly at "thercasylum.com" Thanks for the responses in advance and for each motor let me know what gearing you think would be best? Thanks

4s 5000mah, stock settings on the esc. I can run over 20 min. and the hottest the motor gets is 130. I could run a bigger pinion or more timing but this is the smoothest system i've ever driven.:nod: |

There are two little tabs that screw into the shields. These tabs capture the leading edge of the lower rear suspension arm (i.e. the tabs pinch the suspension arm between the tabs and the shield).

Thanks, Lars. It sort of has to be simple since I use spray cans and Parma paint masks. I try to make up for simple designs by using good color schemes.

1900kv. Best motor I have ever used. I bought mine when they first came out and it's still running smooth. Great combination of speed and run time.

If she wouldn't have let you buy the HANS she didn't love you:cry::p
I still have a blank body I need to paint once it warms up. I'm trying to decide on a paint scheme. Do you guys normally wear gloves when you prep the body? There were some spots on my kiddo's mini-Revo body where the paint was not sticking (the paint beaded up like water on a freshly waxed car). I washed the body with Dawn dish soap, lightly scuffed the areas to be painted, masked, then painted. However, I was not wearing gloves when I did the masking. |
MERV bodies come painted for a reason

I never use gloves, i just wash/degrease the body with alcohol before i apply masking and similar, and then i wash it with alcohol just before painting. It has never failed on me:) |
