Yeah, I would never buy all that stuff. I am trying to decide if the 250+ for a new buggy would really benefit me over what I have. The only upgrade I kinda like is the read hubs. The larger outside bearing might be nice. I tend to destroy that bearing. I just wanted to make sure I was not missing anything before I decide. If that is all that is different, then I will probably just keep my b4 as is.

+1, got caught up with the "this is what you need" hype at my LHS when I bought the new car. Kind of stuck as I have a number of hex wheels mounted up, and my kid wants to run buggy with me now...

I ran my original b4 with a +8 and BB springs on the first version shocks also. I did have the better hubs. I bought a Worlds just to get everything fresh again. Ran almost identical times.

The "Worlds Kit" isn't some mystical buggy.

It's a B4.1 with a long chassis. Everything is else is just a tuning option. If you've got an old buggy, get whichever hubs fit your needs and use tape weights.

The hexes are bling. I got my the plastic ones so I can use my 22 wheels in the back. The only reason I see to go with the front is so I don't have to worry about losing those stupid little screws.

i swapped the axle out with the old b4 axle (sc10 axle too) that uses the locknut instead of that BHS

OK, I concur. I will just upgrade the rear hubs and as weight as needed. I drove my buggy a couple weeks ago and it felt good. I might get the 8+ chassis

I thought the reason for the flush screws was to prevent the axle from snagging on objects? Maybe I just hit too many things...lol

yes that's exactly why. ive never had a problem snagging something with the axle/nut specifically though.

The chassis made the biggest difference. Then tires.

Now the rest is driver.

Default Need for Speed

This may be the wrong place for this question, but hopefully you guys can give me some suggetions. After a long retirement, I have bought a RTR B4.1. I want a little more speed out of it, so will changing the pionion help any or should I just buy a 13.5 motor? This brushless stuff is Greek to me.

The pinion will make you go a little faster. Might cause your esc/motor to get hot and possible burn up if you go to far. What esc came with that RTR because you may not be able to upgrade the motor to a lower turn?

If you have the brushed kit, its limited to 17 turn per AE's documentation.

If its the brushless kit, then you can go up a 6100 kV with 2S Lipo motor.
Motor Limit: 3900kV w/3S LiPo, 6100kV w/2S LiPo

That RTR motor is just as fast or faster than a 13.5. It all depends on what your doing. If your gonna be racing I suggest you stay with that motor. It is plenty fast for most tracks especially if you are "restarting" the hobby. If you are looking for more speed to bash with you can look at one of the Castle setups

Just my $.02 take it for what ita worth
