I am looking to pick up a shorty pack for my buggy. It's a +8 chassis ft with Losi BB's. Any suggestions. I don't want to break the bank ( under 100). I run the stock 17.5 class and all the extra weight is killin me (that's my excuse). Let me know what u think also if u have one for sale pm me. Thanks.

so i was out of town all weekend, but when i got back sunday i made it up to the local track, Leisure Hours Raceway, they were holding the 2012 chitown shootout, sponsored by horizon, LOSI, and some others. I made it in time to watch the A mains, happy to see that there were few 22s and more b4s in the A main of a losi sponsored race

promatch just switched to their 4000 65c packs, they are now $58.

speedzone is also selling a 4000 65c pack for $65 now.

but i am not sure if these are roar approved if that matters.

The 60C ProMatch never got ROAR approval. The 65C is now ROAR approved.

The Speedzone isn't ROAR approved and more expensive.

I've been running ProMatch batteries ever since they started matching NIMH cells.

Small operation but really good group of guys.

yellow is hard in the rear and red is very soft in front..if you make it softer in rear and harder in front it will even out....should make it more consistent

+1.. in my case, it's worth more like $50 in parts. If you're consistently in the top 2 in the pro class at your track, yeah go nuts on parts. If not, with the exception of tires, you probably just need laps... At least, from this rookie's perspective. I have every turn and jump on my local track's layout memorized, and for the most part, I know the right line. Executing that line is where I'm at a total loss. Only way to fix that is laps.

I love this thread, but it seems like there's an awful lot of time devoted to part numbers instead of racing technique. And maybe that's the point. Improving your racing is something that, for the most part, can't be learned by reading.

... that settles it, I have to get the hell back out there tomorrow.

I didn't make my statement to say one is better than the other. They are tuning options. I was more turned off by the constant chasing of springs since some guys were on KY and some on Losi... if everyone was on one set, I would have probably stayed with them. I'll check back on them when the full BB shock is out.

you're right. It's comical. But because they all had Losi parts on their car to make them handle well.

AMAIN have ROAR approved REEDY 4000 60C weight 202g

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...0C-74V-4000mAh

Bought 2 of these the other day, makes a difference in weight distribution! But consequently I have put them out of stock. They have the SUPER POWER version available still though for a few bucks more.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-ROAR-Approved weighing 219g.

Cheers

Well, this IS the B4.1 thread... not "Skillz 101".

When GT5 came out i opened an online lobby and called it 'Skills 101'. It was fairly popular for awhile. Me and a friend of mine always took 1st n 2nd place and we always used GT300-500 class cars or Vettes. Gradually people stopped coming. Then it got boring. No one likes to lose.

The point is... you gotta put in your wheel time. It doesnt matter if its RC, console/PC, or full scale cars. If you arent willing to break a few parts or finish last to find out you AND your cars limits... youre never gonna be fast.

Sounds like something quoted from vin diesel or Paul walker. Good advice though.
