I race at occasionally at Mikes in Carrollton Texas. I asked some guys yesterday and they wouldn't tell me. It just seems that with the 17.5 blinky class I should have been pretty close. I was keeping up with them on the straights, but it was the doubles that killed me. I am going to throw the 13.5 in today and see what it can do.

Sounds like you need to find a new place to race

Yeah, well unfortunately there are not any other offroad tracks around here. It seems like you have to be one of the regulars for anyone to help you. I have only been back into R/C for about 6 months, but I have missed races helping other new guys get their stuff setup. Don't understand why everything has to be a "secret".

I was talking to Ray in the shop yesterday and he helped me a good bit. But it seems that everyone there are Losi guys, and don't want to help an AE guy. Who is Larry? Is he in the shop or a racer?

Racer. He's there most every Saturday. I run 78/24 with a 13.5 at Mike's. But running alot of timing in the motor and ESC, as well as boost and turbo. If you have a Tekin R5, Ray in the shop can set all that for you. I hope to be back racing over there soon and will help where I can.

I run a MMP ESC. I have never used the ESC timing or boost, but I don't think it has turbo. I might have to look into getting a Tekin RS.

I would have to agree.

If it wasn't for this guy(Ryno B4.1) and a few others at the local track I race at. I would still be lost on a setup and tires to use

Brent
Are you gonna get out of work next Saturday to make it down to Tucson for the KBRL race?

I am thinking so. It's not my weekend to work
I was talking to Jeff L about it last night and he is trying to also go.

maybe i dont understand it, but unless you use a true big bore shock...isn't the conversion useless? Isn't the idea of it having more oil to flow aside from the bigger springs? isnt using a big bore spring the same as using a stiffer spring if your still using the original shock bodies?

i have no clue and thats why i ask, i don't see the benefits of using a spring that is larger in diameter. i'm not being a smart@ss, im just confused.

the thing that peaks my interest with the BB springs is the fact that you are no longer rubbing the shock bodies. I'm sure there are other benefits as well, but that is the main reason I am going to try the Losi springs down the road.

on a side note, my car is finally looking like a car. Need a couple more things to finish up and I should be ready for the Christmas Classic at Bumps and Jumps.

Here's a quick shot.... still waiting for my new body and wing. In case anyone was wondering, this is a non +8 body on a +8 car so they do fit. You just have to trim the front a little.

Ran the buggy today in the 13.5 class. qualed 3rd finished 3rd, was first for 2 min but traffic took me out.

Still ran great. Wheelies down straight! Still need some weight in front

bk bars and fullshots in pink are so good for the track. Med high bite

jason's setup wasn't the best so i spaced caster blocks forward and it worked much better. top 3 were so close we weren't a second away from eachother
