He's right. Before the closed cells hit the market we would turn the tires inside out and cut all of the sidewall ribbing out. Then we would use the F300truck foams and radius or 45 the outside edges of the foam. Panther released slicks but no one runs them. We just grind the tread off the Switches.

JC closed cells are too wide for the Panther tires. I like to use the Proline and AKA closed cells. Right now I'm more in favor for the AKA's.

Here's the my track. Current layout at last saturday's race. Looks to be about 3X the size of yours. So my gearing suggestion probably would not be good for you as you don't really need much top speed for a long straight like at my track. You need more torque to clear jumps and exit speed. May be around 26/75 or 25/72. basically a combo that will put around 7.0-7.5 final drive ratio. Hopefully others on here that run on tight tracks like yours can chime in for suggestions.

Edit: These suggestions are for 13.5.
Man that track looks fun..

I talked a guy I race with. He is running a FDR of 7.22 with the gearing I have I can get to a 7.5... 26/75.. going to try that out tomorrow and see how it does, and adjust from there. THe low gearing I have on it now may work well due to the size of the track and all the turns. I just need to make sure I am not spinning to much coming out of the corner and lose my drive. That what has been killing me the last few races with the Reedy 3300kv motor geared to low.

Ok, stupid question here, please take it easy on me.

Just got a B4.1 Brushless RTR and don't know what an extra wire/plug coming from the ESC is for. Same gauge wire as the servo and ESC, a red/black with a tiny female plug on the end of it. Any help?

Default Got the +8...

Just spent the day at the track with my AE made +8 chasis...
Everything tuned, everything dialed.
Set up was the Brent Thielke (Surf City) on Rc10.com.
Was feelin like I had finally brought the car down to my ability and was off the edge. All was right with the world.
BUT THEN...
A fellow racer pointed me towards the Kyosho springs on the wall. Yeah those.
$7 per pair.
Even though I had read every setup from the pros listing the use of them, I still had not given these too much thought.I have generally been pleased with the supplied ae parts of my Factory Team kits. The spurs, the plastics, Even the ball cups! And i was mis informed thinking the k springs cleared the threaded shocks better but that never bothered me with the stockers.
I was feeling like the car was worth it today. Since I had just poured over it with the loving care that it deserved from my back of the b main finishes over the last few months and all. So, with all the new parts, factory +8 chasis, rebuilt diff, shocks, and replaced ball cups and all, I said hell with it...
I spent the $14 on a car's worth of K springs.
Followed the super secret installation process. Which is:
They.
Go.
Right.
On.(NOTHING REQUIRED BUT THE SPRINGS)
AND.........Bam!
Like buying a new kit.
Seriously.
I honestly have been waiting for the write ups on the RB5WE and I was about to throw two DEX210's in my cart at a main.
But I won't. The Factory Team RC10B4.1+8KS (Kyosho Spring(may as well start calling these cars that(just sayin(sorry ae)))) is fantastic. It was lacking these progressive springs.
That is something I did not know.
Im tired. But this car is still awesome. AE would be doing us all a favor and stepping up the Factory team kit. Id buy one just for the fresh plastic and parts. but thats another post.
Just wanted to say I'm still happy to drive it and you should get yourself some K springs if you didnt when this came up like ten months ago.
Thanks for reading.

quit using the K-spring in back with the new 8m

Ae green for the grip is way better...
( #3 piston hand drilled with #55 bit & 27.5W 2x.030 limiter)

still using k-spring up ft though ..
ft (yellow 35w #2 piston , 4 x.030 limiter , inside on arm & tower)

tommy

at my track ? where the k-spring thing was discovered being use by team drivers ?

Most of the fastest here are now using Losi big bore springs ..

O-Yeah !!!

I will give more info tomorrow after I do some testing for myself

I did notice it was better with dark yellows up front, and green rears like the world setup but i didnt need that much, I like dark yellow rears, yellows for more steering..

Send a picture but it is probably a lead to plug a scoring transponder into.

yea, the shorty said ALL CARBON? other than towers?

I was about to try this....but nahh you guys would yell at me

The newer brent setup that shows the new hubs uses the outer hole on the u brace! I always wondering why we didn't use it..this prob makes more bite to make for the steering? Ill try but my buggy has been sitting on tires for a month now It is giving my sc10 the evil eye

New indoor track is being built. The clay has held moisture perfectly and hasn't lost any(indoor) for 4 days now. Sticks like glue

Finally a will run on high bite clay
