Default Shocks

I'm going to admit I'm new to this and have learned a fair amount by reading this forum, having said that.............

What is the hoopla over the V2 shocks? How do they improve the B4.1 and what effect do they have?
Also, what would be a good spring to use with these if they really are an advantage on a clay track with 2 jumps and alot of turns that are fairly smooth?

Thanks

the v2 shocks are awesome!

1. no need to change oil every raceday very little dirt gets in like the old ones
2. the o-ring housing is alot better. no more stupid plastic clip to hold them in
3. alot smoother and i find the care jumps/lands better.

for springs greens in the rear, browns up front. honestly though talk to the guys at your track see the setups they run for shock settings

Default 8mm chassis!

so i am building my 8mm chassis or half way built. I sanded the cut and glued with super gorilla glue which is thick like a med c.a. Then i hot glued some aluminum braces in the outside and inside of the car. Tomorrow i will cut a peice of aluminum very thing high grade stuff, brace the bottem with it and glue it then cover with contact cement, Should be better than one peice i asked my dad for help this time... lol i guess that is cheating

Wow...That sounds like you are planning to add a lot of weight! I hope you aren't planning on running that in a 17.5 class!

hope it goes well, but why are you using so much reinforcement and hot glue. Almost all chassis done my matt or brent, or the one i did just use ca glue to join the halves then use corners of the old chassis to brace it up. These are glued in with ca glue and left or screwed in as well. If the chassis is done this way, it should be just as strong as a uncut chassis. I have put mine through its paces with 0 issues and i run on a 1/8 style track. Why the bracing at the bottom with aluminum, outside, inside, hot glue, etc? I cant see the hot glue working at all. Not trying to rip on you, just curious.

Its gona break , your using the wrong glue, told everyone tire glue performs great .

Even if it did crack with use ?

Just a spot of glue again and your good to go ....

My 8m has been running for about 2 months now , no break or even a touch up required thus far .

FYI: I did it your way, Wild Cherry, and I've had no problems at all. I've cased the triple at my track at least 10 times already with this chassis and it's still going strong after 5 + weeks!

Thanks for posting your method a while back on this thread!

OSO . I'v already seen a few chassis with graphite braces break , use the L braces made from a old chassis . Nothing stronger , no screws as well...

Hot Glue is not going to hold any bracing there. You really need to take the advice from the other members on this thread. They have alot more experience than you in regards to doing this.

Listen to these guys drummerboy. All of us are just trying to help you. Do not use gorilla glue or hot glue. It will not hold.
