Did I misread something? What does hexes had to do with spindle height as a tuning option?

Did I misread something? "A main" is a hobby shop, not an online distributor?

to be honest, I am not even sure they have a storefront. I just imagine a warehouse with a website. If they are an LHS with a website to increase sales, then why no AVID parts?

It is both, they have a store front with a few different tracks.

Because Avid can make more $$ by selling their parts directly to the consumer (and pass that savings on to you, $1 a bearing...really?) than having to sell to a distributor that has to make some money on their end as well.

Yeah, but LHS's order them in. HT had the slipper for $31. More than the avid website, but less than the avid website with shipping. I dunno, if I were A Amin, I would buy them from avid and then make them up a little and resale. With the free shipping from A main, people would still buy it. Also, CV sells the avid bearings for $1, so he must be getting some discount from AVID.

To each his own, I'm all about supporting my Local Hobby Shop (keyword Local), however I've been shopping at tower's for over 6years and have become a gold member in which I get even bigger discounts and more special promotions etc. I still buy from my LHS but when I purchase in bulk etc I go to towers to get a better deal. I have other hobbies I like to do so anytime I can save money I'm all for it...........

associatedvalley, unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm gonna make it to the track today to test out the gen2. Some things came up and not sure if I'm going to make it out today, but will def. be headed there Friday.........

AMain is a "Local" Hobby Shop for some, but I am not sure anyone called them a LHS in this discussion.

Silver Dollar will be the site of the 2013 IFMAR worlds. I may be wrong but, with that being said I assume they will have much better product knowledge than a parts distributor.

So, I need to pick up a 13.5 for a race in November. I am leaning towards reedy or tekin. I can buy the tekin non gen2 for $50 from tekin. And it appears to be a higher kv than Reedy, but the last Redline I owned ran a little hot. About 20 deg more than my reedy. Anyone have experience with both of these?
