Default for 8ight E owners, xcelorin or MMM?

losi 8ight E owner please help.

im considering the xcelorin 1700kv/2100kv system and the castle creations 2200kv MMM system. i am not sure if either would be fine?...

i have heard quite a bit about xcelorin problems but losi claims that its no longer an issue and its as good as MMM.

any advice?

thanks!

Castle all the way. Stay far away from the Losi ESC and Motor. Too many problems with the Losi ESC and the motor is an inefficient dog. Nobody I know still runs the Losi ESC. Tekin is a nice system too but I am a Castle fan for life. If you are only running buggy then you can get the Mamba Max Pro and either a Castle or Tekin motor.

I've heard so many horror stories about the Xcelorin system. I just got the Losi 8ight-E Buggy and put my MMM 2650 combo in it. It's WAY over powered, but I'm easy on the throttle so it's not as bad as everyone said it would be. That being said, I let one of the guys at my local track who's pretty much top dog and he thought I should use the MMM esc with the Losi 1700kv motor after I let him take it out for a few laps. He thought my buggy just had too much power

Castle is the way to go. I have a mmpro and it pounds hard in my B4. Love it. You will not regret buying the mmm.

Default MM is da $^%&

I have a losi 8t 2.0 and picked up the losi controller and the 2050. thought it could work. lol NOT. Burned it up. I put in the MM controller and MM 2200kv. Ran several races and many practices, have not had one problem. Controller runs about 125 degrees motor runs about 165ish. I also have a ve8 with MM controller and a 2650kv MM. ran many races no problems. My ofna gtp converted to MM power with the 2200kv has been letting me bash on a 6 cell for a year now, no problems. Gear it right and its a no brainer.

I am still using the losi speedo and 2100 kv motor aswell. Great speedo, never had any problems what so ever. Would recommend any day.

MM is also a very good speedo but when the fan gets stuck wth grass etc and it stops working, your speedo thermals, not a very good idea. Know a few people who have had this problems

Losi all the way!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats funny I ran my mmm without the fan. It just stopped working and at that time they did not have a replacement case yet. With the right gearing you wont over heat. I would get the mmm. for the quality its by far better.Good luck with your decision.

Every Exceleron that has showed up at our club track has failed. The MMM is Way more reliable but the Tekin is the smoothest. If you have a MMM combo & think your motor is over powered (which it probably is) why not just keep the MMM & get a Tekin motor. They have a wide KV selection & it will be easy to sell the castle motor (if you need the cash).

I really say MMM, but if people are scared that the 2650 is too much motor, you can always dial it back with your EPA settings or with the field link or Castle Link and dial the throttle settings back so your not at 100%

I have good luck with mine too and so have most of the guys at my local track . Some of the guys switched to Tekin only because they run them in all their other cars and they wanted a sensored motor not because they failed . There has only been 2 speedos that failed at my track over the last 2 months and they were both Mamba's but that was probably because they were over geared .

I have a 1/10 xcelorin and it Cogs like crazy! I have also had a MMM go out for no reason, castle said it was undervoltage, but it didnt make sense, just a bad one i guess, that being said I would go with the Mamba, my Mamba max pro has been great, and the Mamba max was bulletproof.
