Talking Need Help with new Rustler Setup

I am going to be buying a Traxxas Rustler VXL RTR for my first car and I need some assistance with what I need to order so I can hit the ground running.

1. Which tires to purchase? I want to throw some larger tires on it (Badlands or Masher 2K's). I've read articles with people using both 2.2 and 2.8" tires. What's the difference and do I need to do anything else to the car to make them work? And do I go with a wheel, tire combo or purchase separately?

2. Is there a list of parts I should order straight away so I have backups when I break something? Or a list of stock parts on the Rustler RTR that are known to break?

Thanks in advance!

1. I'm not sure. There are so many tires it is mixing me up real good.

2- I have a Slash wich is simular

Here are the spare parts you should get:
2667(Allow shock caps)
3632(Caster blocks)
3736(Steering blocks)
3752(Stub axle carrier)
You should be good with this.

Have fun!

You could probably use some RPM caster blocks, lower A-arms, and bearing carriers ft/rear as the stock ones will hold up but the RPM parts are stronger. Also check out www.teamstrc.com for upgrades. Invest in a good Lipo batt like 2s 5000;if you go w/3s 5000+ the thing will be uncontrollablly fast. Make sure you get some kind of wheelie bar! Tires are a personal choice depending on how/where you're going to drive-track? off-road?street racing? Pick up some extra pinions(RRP or Losi)/spur gears. They're cheap and it's good to have a few on hand.
