If you need a receiver I would upgrade to the Traxxas link 2.4 radio as you can get it for like 65-85 bucks with a trade in of your old transmitter and receiver. If you like Spekrtum DX3E is a good choice at $100 and it comes with a servo, the only drawback would be that you have to get a different servo arm because it has a different spline count.

The stock 2075 servo isn't that bad for a rtr servo. They can be had fairly cheap too.

I agree the 2075 is the way to go. Plenty of speed and torque and it is waterproof as well. Few other servos like water.
What caused the truck to run wild? Were radio batteries OK, antennae up on radio, antennae in truck in a tube? What kind of radio AM, FM, 75, or 27. 27 AM can glitch easily, 75 AM is better, 75 FM better yet, best is 2.4

agree, cheap servo = 2075, but a really good upgrade is the Ace DS1015
