It's a boat? Then the amp draw will be very high as there's alot of high speed runs.

The prop also play a part. The faster the hotter n more amp draw.

Power via volts is more efficient than power via amps.

The 2200kv motor will draw more current because it has a higher power rating. Gear ratio does not matter because it has no effect on the power rating of the motor.

Power = voltage x current
