Default Radio Question???

What is the difference between a 2 channel and 3 channel radio, beside one has another channel than the other. I am looking at get a new one, either a dx2s or dx3s. The dx2s is only a 2 channel and the dx3s is a 3 channel. thanks

The third channel is handy for plugging in transponders, other than that the radios are pretty much the same

You basically answered your own question .The only difference is having a third channel . A three channel radio is used if you need a third function like for a dig servo on a rock crawler , or any function that another servo is needed . All receivers [2 or 3 channel] these days have an AUX for plugging in transponders .
